Enjoy time each week to create, learn, and explore pottery in a relaxed, small-group setting. Students can work with handbuilding, wheel throwing, and creative projects while learning techniques such as texture, surface decoration, carving, slips, glazing, and more.
Each session includes six 2-hour weekly classes for $300 and includes guided instruction, demonstrations, use of studio tools and equipment, clay, studio glazes, and kiln firings.
For handbuilders, one prepared slab of clay, sized to accommodate a class project, is available to each student per class.

No class November 25 during Thanksgiving week.
Classes are offered in scheduled six-week sessions, and registration reserves your place for all six classes.
Can't start on the first scheduled date? When space is available, late enrollment may be accommodated when at least four classes remain in the session. Depending on when you join, tuition may be prorated based on the number of remaining classes, or additional studio time may be arranged to account for one missed class.
When joining after the first class, the missed two hours may be completed over two scheduled class days, based on studio and instructor availability. If fewer than four classes remain, you may register for the next available session.
After registering, Catoctin Creek Pottery will contact you to confirm your class, any late-enrollment arrangements, and provide studio information.
Because classes are intentionally kept small, your registration reserves your space for the session. Each six-week session includes one makeup opportunity of up to three hours for a student absence, subject to studio and instructor availability.
Additional missed classes cannot be refunded, credited, transferred, or carried forward.

Classes are designed for adults ages 18 and up. Students ages 16-17 may participate when registered with and accompanied by a participating parent or legal guardian unless otherwise approved by Catoctin Creek Pottery.
