Every piece has its own character - no two are exactly alike, making each work truly one-of-a-kind, like the horse the hair came from.

These pieces are intended for display and visual appreciation rather than functional use.  While treated for longevity, they are not food-safe.  These treasures range from small to large decorative pieces. Pricing varies by size and the complexity of the hair pattern. 

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Display in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and humidity to preserve the natural carbon hair pattern and surface texture.

Horsehair pottery is a seasonal specialty at Catoctin Creek Pottery, with custom commissions available during the spring and summer months only. Because of the specialized firing process, horsehair pieces are not produced during the fall and winter.
